Obsessions

David is currently sitting on his lawn chair, watching Gabba, and stuffing his face with a Swiss Cake Roll. He's so funny. Oh and I have him singing "Goodbye, see you later, we had fun" from Gabba. He's OBSESSED. He's also currently obsessed with Nemo only he calls it "pushies" instead of fishies.

Life Changing Events

YAY! I have my laptop back and I can share pictures!! David had 2 life changing experiences in the past month. 1) He had his 2nd birthday party. 2) He went to see Yo Gabba Gabba Live.

Life changing, I tell you!

We went up to Scranton for a family birthday party for him. He got a boatload of presents from family. Here are some of his presents. (they spoil him)

Here is the boatload I was speaking of.

Note: The tent comes with a tube that comes out of it. The thing is humungous and takes up his whole bedroom. So we put it in the closet until he asks us for it.

Next up was Yo Gabba Gabba Live. His aunts took him to go see it because it was Russ and my anniversary. So they gave us the night off and took him to see the show. Let's just say he LOVED it.

He got a Muno backpack which he sleeps with at night.

A crazy light sabre thing that I think makes me go blind when it's on. I think.

This is what we call his Gabba Face. This is how he looks when the show is on the TV. Aaaand now when he sees it live.

Many other things have happend in the past month, but those were the life changing events. I'll slowly show some more pictures when I think about it.

September update is coming

I swear the update is coming. I had to take my laptop to get a new hard drive and that's where all of my September photos were. So I have them saved on a USB drive. I will get them up as soon as I can!! I swear there's an update coming!

August Update

So let me update you on August. We visited family and went to the beach! David is freaking amazing. He is an so fun!! He pretends and knows what's going on. He knows what things are and when he's hurt he tells me. He says please and thank you. He says bless you when you sneeze but he also says it when he sneezes. And he thanks himself afterwards. He's very considerate. When he leaves a room, he stops at the edge of the room and says, "a comin?" There are so many things about him that are all jumbled in my brain that I can't put into words about his awesomeness. So I'll just share some pictures from August.

David is talking up a storm. Seriously. You say anything to him and he will repeat (almost perfectly) the last word you said. He requests a LOT of things now. And he sings to any song he sort of knows the words to. He is fantastic and amazing. And he has peed on the potty 2 times now! That is all I'm posting for now. We are going to the BEACH for a week. Then we'll be moving apartments. Pictures and a post about those events will be coming afterwards.

Russ' mom usually gets professional pictures of David done every so often. Last year we did The Picture People and the pictures turned out phenomenal. This year The Picture People closed at the mall and the closest one was 45 minutes away, so we went with the picture place that was in Walmart. I have to tell you it was a HORRIBLE experience. Not only did David not want to sit still, he was upset in the begininng, and was crying. We finally got him to be happy and that was good enough for us. We have no posed pictures, and we don't have a lot of pictures with his whole front face. On top of all of that, Russ' mom paid $260 for a cd of the photos. That's it. That's freakin' ridiculous!! Next time, we will be asking my brother (who's a professional photographer) to take some pictures of David. Here's how they turned out.

So here's a fact. I love love love my son! This age is awesome! Sure he has his tantrums, and when he's sick, I don't know what's bothering him. I love that he plays by himself, but I love that he shares his excitement with us too. He pretends and he dances. He sings to commercials and theme songs. He's amazing. I this this is my favorite age so far. His hair is frowy, red and curly. He loves bath time (minus the washing the hair part). He gives kisses and BIIIIIG hugs. He's learning how to jump but instead stands up high on his tippy toes instead. Ah I love this kid.

He looooves brownies too.

Quick Update

I just got a laptop. So, I don't have any new pictures on here yet. But they'll be coming soon!

David is in love with the alphabet song. He is getting clearer and clearer with each letter! He even did LMNOP pretty well today! I'm so proud of him! He's also repeating a lot of things now so it's time for his dad to really start watching what he says. He loves sharing and loves pretending! :) I'm so amazed how he is growing up so fast! I was looking at pictures of him from November, and it's amazing how much different he is! I can't believe he's going to be 2 years old in October. It's insane.

Jackson Turns 2!!

This past weekend we celebrated my nephew, Jackson's, 2nd birthday. It was a lot of fun! On Sunday we went to Valley Forge Park and ran around with Jackson, Tommy, Rachel, Nan, and my mom. Here are some pictures from this weekend:

We will be ordering this off of Snapfish and getting it framed for the house. Wouldn't it be great if we could get Modern Bird to make a painting of this one??

So yeah. I think you all know by now that I suck at updating. I did, however, just put this blog in my bookmarks bar at the top of my internet screen. So here we are in January and I haven't really updated much. Sorry about that. Life with a toddler is crazy and since I'm not getting paid to write this, it's okay if I don't update for months.

So Yeah! David is one year old. I haven't done birthday pics or Halloween pics or anything. That's where this post comes in. It will be full of pics.

David wasn't sure about his cake and continued to wipe the icing all over his face like war-paint

He really loved the swings too.

He had a really loong day and passed out at the end. All in all it was a great first birthday party.

On his actual fist birthday he got his first haircut.

I had to stand to hold him because he wouldn't sit still.

Things we also did this past month were trips to the park.

And dressing up for Halloween. The night before he was Tom Cruise.

The day of he was a Dinosaur.

Oh and he LOOOVED playing catch.

Busy Busy

This will probably be the last update until after David is one. I have a baby shower to go to this weekend, next weekend is his birthday party, and the following weekend is David's birthday plus it's my friend's wedding. SOO I'm going to overload this post with pictures to hold you over.

David went on vacation with us and raided the toy box and I found these and put them on. He didn't care and left them on until they fell off.

David was getting ready for the beach and decided to try on some shades.

He LOOOOOVED the sand.

When we got back home, he decided that he wanted to walk, so we set out and bought him 2 pair of sneakers.

Here's pair number 2. I love them.

Most of the time he has to walk around with something in his hand. This time around it was my flip-flop.

And he's off.

He celebrated football weekend by sticking on an Umenyiora jersey.

It's a little big, but he'll grow into it. :)

New Camera

Since my last post I got a new camera in the mail... that lasted 2 hours until I put batteries in it and it kept shutting off. So I convinced my husband to let me get another camera. I didn't get any of the ones on the list in the last post. I got a SANYO X1400. It has 14mp and 4x Optical Zoom and was only $119. I'm very pleased with it. It even takes panoramic shots (which I'm still figuring out).
On another note, David has decided to start walking independently. Check him out.

So since I lost my camera I asked people what kind of cameras they had so I could get some ideas about what to get for myself. I did some research online at Walmart and Best Buy to figure out what the best deal was. Only to find out that I know NOTHING about cameras. I know the higher the megapixel, the better. But what about zoom? I would think that the more zoom the better too, right? So why is one camera's zoom 4x and one camera's zoom 15x?? Here, I'll show you:

I would totally appreciate any feedback on this matter.

I'm thinking of getting the Canon Powershot. It's been recommended by my brother (the professional photographer) and it's only $170 vs the $200+

But I lost my camera this past weekend. I checked EVERYWHERE and the last place I remember having it was the parking lot at the Brandywine Zoo. So if anyone who reads this, was there (like I would really have those odds) and found my camera, I would LOVE to have it back. Well... really, you can have the camera, I just want my memory card back with my son walking on it. K?

So much for weekly updates huh? I should put it in my calendar (that I never look at) to write a post every week. Well it's been MONTHS since I've written so here's what's been going on. David is now 10 months old. He crawls like a pro, has 8 teeth, and stands alone for little bits at a time. He has even taken one step here and there. His birthday party is a month and a half away. It's so crazy to think that he will be 1!! Here are some pictures of what's been happening since MAY. Oops. David...

visited one of his great-grandmom's and LOVED her vertical blinds

hung out with his friend, Max, for a couple days

learned to play the trumpet (upside down no less)

got a job for an IT company

Oh yeah, learned how to pull himself up to standing

And learned to swim.

He has been one crazy, busy guy these last few months. I will try to keep you more updated on the next couple of months before his first birthday.

The little man is 7 months old. He has 5 teeth and is so close to crawling.

On another note, I randomly thought about Magic Eye today. Remember that??

6 Months

6 Months Old. I can't believe it!!!! He's half a year old! He sits all by himself for a couple of minutes (until he gets too excited and topples over) With turning six months also came his first cold. But he doesn't seem to be too torn up about it; he's currently shaking his orange ring and screaming at the TV. And now for some 6 month pictures.

There are 2 teeth in there and there are 2 more coming in on the top!

I lost my camera. I am soo bummed. Those last pictures of him eating squash were the last ones I have of him on my computer. :( Russ offered to give me back the video camera I gave him, but those pictures come out all blurry. I have to figure out what to do by Monday though. David turns 5 months and I need the camera for his sticker pictures. I want to buy another one, but my $300 spending money is going to 2 Yankees games in NY and a Phillies game. Maybe I can set some sort of budget for those and use the extra money to get a new camera (obviously it wouldn't be a good one).

We went to the doctor today and David is a "tall skinny kid" according to his dr. Haha! He is a very long boy. He's in 6 month pj's but is in 3-6 month everything else. Anyway, he's 27in long and he weighs 16lbs 4oz. :) He's growing soooooo fast!

He is now allowed to start solids so here are a few pics to brighten everyone's day:

4 Months

David wants to tell everyone that even though he's a week late, he's 4 months old!!

(p.s. check out the sleeve length, I think I'm going to have to get bigger onesies soon)

I can't believe how fast he's growing! He's rolling over more often now, he's teething (omg the hell), and he's way more aware of his surroundings now. He notices when we leave the room and hates it. His 4 month appointment is on the 15th where he will be getting more shots (it's Russ' turn to go) and hopefully we'll get the OK from the Dr. to start solids! I'm so excited!

Polkabats and Octopus Slacks :14 Stories is a book that has really cute poems in it. My favorite is "Funky Snowman". (PS I don't know what needs to be italicized or quoted or underlined) This is how it goes:

I'm obsessed with this. My client's music teacher put a rhythm to it and I say it to David all the time. He loves it!

Reflux

Russ has it, I had it when I was pregnant, and apparently, David has it. The meds we got for David smells like peppermint. Since he has no idea what the heck that is, he's having trouble taking it. We've had 4 attempts to giving him his medicine. 1 of them was fully successful. I'm pretty sure he got some in there on this last attempt. But it also dripped down his chin and onto the changing table.

In other news:

David loved his jumperoo.

He's not quite big enough to reach the floor, but he loved the lights and the music.

This week will be spent finding out how much I spend on eating. If I'm estimating correctly, I'm spending about $20 a day on food. If that's the case, I'm going to talk to Russ about starting Nutrisystem for myself. It's about $11 a day. That's almost HALF of what I usually do. I eat like crap, I feel like crap, and I could stand to lose some weight.

I'm also going to purchase Jillian Michaels' 30-Day Shred video from Walmart. That will be a $9 purchase. I think I can handle that. I will be able to work out at home on my own time and not have to leave the little man (and lose more time with him) to work out. I'm going to try really hard to get rid of this stupid baby weight, plus some.

I haven't written in this thing since Halloween. Maybe it's time for an update at 3:40am. David slept through the night 2 nights in a row and is now getting up once again. He has his 2-2:30 feeding and goes back to sleep until Russ gets up for work. Boo!

And he LOVES to suck on his fist. He can't quite get the thumb in there. But I think once he knows how to keep the thumb in, that will be the pacifier.

So there you have it. David is 2 months old and it's crazy to think that in 9 days he will be 3 months old.

Halloween

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! Okay so I'm 3 days late, but it's ok. So I know this is a Gas Smile, but I'm totally starting to take them as real ones. I swear he's smiling AT ME!

As you can see, he HATES his pumpkin costume. He was in it long enough to take some pictures and then we took him out. So maybe a total of 5 minutes.

He tolerated it for a second while we set him up next to Jackson. Who had been wearing his a lot longer at this point and starting to get upset with it.

Then they both hated it and were changed out of them promptly after this picture.

We (my mom, tommy, and I) couldn't help but laugh the whole time. It was like we were torturing them.

Well here he is! David arrived a whole week early. It was my first day of maternity leave too. He wanted to make sure Mommy didn't have to wait around for him.

I'm extremely exhausted but utterly in love. I don't care that I'm so tired because he is so worth it. :) I love everything about him. Even when he pees all over the place every time I change him.

I started having contractions at 6:30am and had him at 9:52pm. He had to be vacuumed out, but his head is pretty much back to a normal shape. He has a full head of Blond hair and dark blue eyes. He was 21 3/4 in long and 8lbs 12oz.

Russ is doing an amazing job with him as well. He is still getting the hang of it, so he's frustrated sometimes, but he'll get it.

Okay time to go back to mommyhood. :)

OMG. I'm so excited for this movie! My baby will be about a month old. And Russ said he would babysit so I can go see it. OMG OMG OMG! I'm sooooo excited!

35 weeks!

I'm 35 weeks TODAY! I only have 35 more days to go! No picture yet. I'll probably take one tonight. :) Holy smokes, only 35 days left! Tons of people are saying I'm going to go early. For their sake, I hope they're right. If I keep hearing that I'm going to go early and then I don't go til 41/42 weeks, I'm gonna be angry at some people. And you don't really want an angry pregnant lady, do you? Especially if she's overdue.

Haha. Anyway. Work is going well. Only 26 more days of that and then I'm on maternity leave until my baby is 6 weeks old. Then Russ will have him for a week by himself, and my sister-in-law, Laurie, will have him for a week after that. Then childcare.

Speaking of which, we're whittling down the childcare applicants and so far have 2 we really like. We want to schedule a couple more interviews next week, and then we should be set. :)

Total weight gain/loss: a little higher than 25lbs i'm assuming
Maternity clothes? oh yes
Sleep: 2 pillows under my head, one pillow on each of my sides.

Best moment this week: my hubby being amazing

Movement: his butt really likes to pop out. it's cute

Food cravings: anything with sugar... sad that it's limited

Gender: BOY!

Labor Signs: Getting some Braxton Hicks but nothing major

Belly Button in or out? sometimes in, sometimes flat and sometimes a little out.
What I miss: it's getting uncomfortable to get up from sitting on the floor... eep!
What I am looking forward to: Audrey's wedding this weekend! :) Plus being sooo close!

Sleep: Getting less and less.. BUT I still end up on my back..

Sleep: Last night I slept ok, but it's definitely getting less and less.

So yeah, Tommy and Rachel had their baby this morning!! I'm sooo excited to go see him and take millions of pictures and hold him! He was 9lbs 11oz. And FINALLY I know his name, Jackson Thomas. I love it! (not that it would matter if I didn't) I would really really like to take off work tomorrow to go see him. But Russ will probably have a problem with it, sooooo I guess I'll wait. ANYWAY, just 4 more months until I have my boy. That's so crazy.

Food cravings: Last week was Olive Garden's soup salad and breadsticks combo. It was fullfilled Saturday. Mmmm

Our original plan was to wait until we had the baby to find out the sex. HOWEVER I'm the nosiest person in the world and NEED to know what's going on. SO, that being said, we've decided to go ahead and find out the sex.

My next appointment is Monday, but the big u/s isn't until May, unfortunately. I will be getting people's guesses for the next month!

Babies EVERYWHERE

Like for real. My cousin had a baby last year, my other cousin had a baby a couple of weeks ago, my brother is having a baby in June and I'm having a baby in October.

Holy shnikies that's a lot of babies! Last Christmas there was one baby at Christmas... This year there will be four!

Job and More

I haven't really been in the typing mood recently, but I figure now is as good as any to type. I got a job, for NHS Human Services. I'll be a Therapeutic Staff Support and will be working with mainly children on the Autism spectrum. I start on the 30th with my training and am really excited!

Tommy and Rachel are having a boy!! YAY! They're not telling us the name they've chosen though.

Twilight

I called KinderCare. They said I'm definitely qualified for the job, but they're putting off hiring anyone until after the new year. So I hopefully only have to wait another couple of weeks!!!

On another note, I'm definitely obsessed with the Twilight series. Monday, not only did I read 15 chapters of the book, I drove back to MD, stopped in for a dr.'s apointment, and saw the movie. I heard that if you read the book before seeing the movie you hated it. So I HAD to see the movie then because I finished the book yesterday. There would have been no other time to go!

AND to top all of that off, Russ bought me the other 3 books for my Christmas present! He's amazing! I will probably finish all of the books before Christmas, but that's okay by me!

Family News:
Tommy and Rachel had another ultrasound. They still don't know the sex of the baby, but it will be due around June 6th. (Too bad not the 14th)

So far I have had one interview. I hope to get a call back really soon on that one. I am very optimistic! While that's happening I'm working at Macy's and can't stand the customers. The holiday season is the worst. I get the most impatient, rude people I've ever been in contact with. Plus I only know my schedule a week in advance, so planning visits with anyone is extremely hard. I miss my friends and family back in PA.

Russ on the other hand has been doing really well in work. Hopefully he will go visit his friends soon. I know he misses them and would like a weekend where he can hang out with them.

Family news: It's my mom's birthday today

Tommy and Rachel are going to have a baby! They're due in June (right around my birthday)

Thanksgiving will be at my Uncles' house this year

Christmas is still undecided

Oh and PS I am such a huge fan of Christmas music! I guess 18 years of not really hearing it makes me love it so much now. :)

Our first blog as a married couple. CRAZY! Anyway, Corinne found out that she didn't get the job. So we're back to square one with that. Hopefully something will turn up.
